Lincoln Long Releases "Mbilu" Single

When Lincoln Long debuted Moonshot in March, his hope was to establish himself as a recording artist, outside of his noteworthy production credits. The 11-track mixtape was well-received by Lincoln's community of listeners, making the moment even better for the Limpopo native.

With the performance of the single on soft, and the release of the Moonshot Mix, Lincoln hoped to share his most well-received single, "Mbilu" with the world properly. When selected to perform his music on 'soft', he delivered a heartfelt performance. With the song rooted in not losing hope. Lincoln explains the single as a story of a lover who has gone to chase their dream in another city but leaves behind a family in the process. "In the song, there's a girl I'm talking to, and I'm telling her that I'm in Joburg, working hard, and [for her] not to lose hope," he explains. A narrative we've seen woven into music countless times, but often never in XiTsonga.
