Slim BLVD Debuts March Madness After Two Years In Production

A passion project like a mixtape is one that takes patience and commitment; two characteristics Slim BLVD had to nurture while producing March Madness.

Slim BLVD, known for his talents as a producer and hitmaker, Slim BLVD has long deserved the acclaim he's received at home and abroad. Today, the DJ/Producer has let the world share in a passion project that has been in production for two years.

Since his time at Cantare nightclub, Slim has wanted to put people on. He acknowledges, however, that in specs like nightclubs bottom lines must still be factored in, making it difficult to support lesser-known artists. This sentiment then prompted him to release March Madness, a mixtape featuring artists that one wouldn't normally come across.

In a laugh-filled interview with Misa Narrates, Slim shared how integral his younger brother was in helping source some of the artists who appear on the tape. Specifically, the time when his brother had to advocate that Slim listen to an artist again. Suffice to say, Slim laughingly notes how he had to eat a few slices of "humble pie" where some artists were concerned. The full interview is here.

March Madness bears five tracks, oscillating between club singles, a speckling of R&B and musicians who "rap rap!"
